Manitoba Consumer Protection Information







All in pricing: Dealers' must state in their advertisments the total price, including all additional charges except the PST and GST. In other words, a consumer responding to a dealer advertisment must be able to purchase the vehicle for the advertised price + GST & PST. No other fees, period.


The dealer may offer a consumer other add-ons such as extended warranty, but it is at the discretion of the consumer as to whether or not they wish to purchase any additional products from the dealer.

  • If a consumer believes that they have been unfairly charged additional fees they should contact the Consumer Protection Office at 204-945-3800 or toll free 1-800-782-0067 or via email consumers@gov.mb.ca


  • Motor vehicle information disclosure: Dealers must disclose all material facts about a vehicle that they are selling to a consumer; for the list of required disclosures CLICK HERE
